Bulgaria Justice Minister, Margarita Popova, has announced that following the ‘Krasio from Pleven’ magistrate scandal a second “brokerage” scheme has been uncovered in the Blagoevgrad District court.

Popova called the political and professional brokers “the biggest danger to the judiciary,” at a meeting of the Supreme Judicial Council.

The broker in the Blagoevgrad Court was named as "Badzhanaka”. After the scheme was announced the SJC decided to postpone the four appointments for heads of the judiciary; including the Chairs of courts in Shumen and Blagoevgrad and the district prosecutor of Pleven.

The contest was postponed for the Chair of the District Court in Blagoevgrad, as there where numerous signs of immoral behavior against the current Chair who is a candidate for a second term - Krasimir Arshinkov.

The Council formed a temporary committee chaired by Bozidar Souknarov which will attend court and get acquainted with the materials and by 8 January should be ready for auditing.
