2 Men Convicted for College Student Murder Go Missing before Imprisonment
Two of the three men convicted for the murder of 20-year-old Stoyan Baltov in 2008 have gone missing.
Many friends, family, relatives and citizens of Bulgaria’s city of Sliven gathered at a memorial service Saturday to mark the one-year anniversary of Stoyan Baltov’s dead.
The Sofia pharmacy college student from Sliven was killed one year ago in the Sofia “Studentski Grad” (College Town) district. He was attacked in front of the “Amnesia” Disco club and severely beaten. Baltov was 20 when he died. The attackers are said to have been drinking heavily. They both were of Baltov’s age.
The victim’s mother and brother, many of his fellow college students and friends were in Sleven Saturday to remember Stoyan. A Foundation helping education, healthcare, sports and disadvantaged children was established in February 2009 in Stoyan’s name on the idea of his brother Borislav.
