Bulgarian Technical University Joins Hewlett Packard Institute

The Technical University (TU) in Bulgaria's capital Sofia is now affiliated with the prestigious Hewlett Packard International Institute of Technology - HP IIT.
The news was announced by Tuesday HP Bulgaria.
During an official ceremony, the CEO of HP Bulgaria, Iravan Hira, and the Rector of TU, Professor, Kamen Veselinov, signed the memorandum for the establishment of a teacher and student study and research center. The center will use HP's innovative study programs in the information technology sector.
The creator of HP ITT, Igor Belusov, was a special guest of the event.
A USD 80 000 grant to provide the most modern hardware and software was presented by Iravan Hira as part of the memorandum.
HP ITT currently includes 20 leading universities, which all interact through an internet portal for information and expert knowledge exchange. The program corresponds to the local educational needs, but, at the same time, helps the alignment of standards in IT education between universities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
