Major Nidal Hasan, who is charged with killing 13 people at the largest US military base in Fort Hood, Texas, on November 5, 2009, is paralyzed from the chest down.

This has been reported by the Washington Post, which cites Hasan’s lawyer, John Galligan. The Fort Hood gunman has been confined by a magistrate ruling until his military trial.

Hasan is recovering from gunshot wounds at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. No date has been set yet for his military trial.
