The Bulgarian conservative party “Order, Law, Justice” (RZS) is launching a campaign to demand a new Constitution.

The campaign, which is entitled “65 Years Are Enough. We Want a Grand National Assembly, a New Constitution, a New State”, starts on November 8, 2009.

“Bulgaria must do away once and for all with the post-communist mafia model of government in order to restart the state. The Bulgarian Socialist Party still has the illusion that it represents the Bulgarian society,” the declaration of the RZS party reads.

The conservatives also say that now that the first 100 days of the GERB government are up, the society expects a change of the existing model of government.

“This is hardly going to happen if for some reason GERB leaves the same people in the state government structures. In the same context, there is an expectation for specific results from the “witch hunt” which the former PM complains about, and the present PM acclaims. The leading role of the BCP/BSP has made possible the transition from totalitarian to oligarchic state”, the RZS says.

The party led by Yane Yanev also predicts in its declaration that the Bulgarian Socialist Party is going to split in two formations in 2010 – one headed by President Georgi Parvanov, and another – by ex-PM Sergey Stanishev.

The conservatives are also calling for a “real public debate” on the participation of the Socialist Party in the government during the post-communist transition of the last 20 years.
