Some 300 new IT firms with about 9 000 employees will be started in Bulgaria before 2013.

This has been announced by Jaka Stele, General Manager of Microsoft for Central and Eastern Europe, during Friday’s conference “Business Optimization and Jobs Creation” organized by the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum and Microsoft Bulgaria in Sofia.

According to the data cited by Stele, 16 000 new IT firms will be opened in Europe in the next 2-3 years, which will 500 000 new IT jobs.

The Bulgarian IT firms have started to rehire the employees they have laid off as a result of the crisis, according to the results of a survey of AIMS Human Capital from September 2009, cited by Maria Shishkova from the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum.

In her words, the survey shows an increase in the IT job openings as the companies are restarting the projects they temporarily put on hold because of the economic crisis.
