The majority of the companies in Bulgaria employing over 100 people intend to keep the same levels of the salaries they pay in 2010.

According to a national poll of big employers, carried out by ING and Alpha Research, 73% of the top company managers have said they would not increase the salaries of their workers in 2010.

6% have stated they expected a decrease of the wages, whereas 16% said they would be increasing the employees’ payments in 2010.

66% of the managers do not plan to lay off workers, and 13% are actually going to hire more in 2010.

The anti-crisis measures planned by the firms have to do with reducing the expenditures for raw materials (36% of the respondents), reducing labor cost (30%), and reducing marketing and advertising expenditures (24%).

75% of all managers expect that their business would be preserved or would grow in 2010. The greatest issue for the employees are reported to be receiving their social security and retirement benefits.
