The woman is believed to have been beaten and choked by her husband, 47-year-old Bulgarian named Georgi, who has been arrested, the El Pais has reported.

The murder happened in the family’s house. The woman had not complained of domestic violence but according to the Mayor of Santanyi, she told her daughter one time that if her father beat her again, she must call the police.

The Bulgarian woman has been found dead by the police who arrived on a signal of a domestic scandal. The husband explained the fact that the victim had been choked and beaten by saying she wanted to kill their three-year-old son. After searching the house, the police found schizophrenia medicines.

The Bulgarian family has been living in Majorca for five year. The husband worked as a gardener in tourist villas in Santini but had been unemployed for some time. The children of the family have been placed under special care by psychologists.
