Bulgarian customs officers have found about 73 kg of heroin in a Romanian microbus at the Lesovo Border Crossing Point on the Turkish border.

The Romanian driver of the microbus tried to enter Bulgaria from Turkey Saturday morning with 142 packages of heroin hidden in secret compartments of the car, the Regional Police Directorate in the city of Yambol announced.

The value of the found heroin on the Bulgarian market would be about BGN 5 M, according to police sources.

At a separate occasion at the Kapitan Adreevo Border Crossing Point, again on the Bulgaria-Turkey border, customs officers found about 24,5 kg of heroin hidden in a passenger bus traveling from Turkey's Istanbul to the southern Bulgarian cities of Haskovo and Kardzhali.
