Bulgaria Energy Holding Takes over Burgas-Alexandroupolis Oil Pipeline

The Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) is going to be in charge of the potential realization of the Burgas-Alexandroupolis oil pipeline project.
This was announced Friday by the Regional Development Minister Rosen Plevneliev, who made it clear it did not make sense to have his Ministry carry out the project.
The responsibility for the project is expected to be transferred to the state-owned company BEH next week.
Shortly before assuming his ministerial post, Plevneliev said the construction of the Russian-sponsored Burgas-Alexandroupolis oil pipeline was not economically justified.
This was followed by statements on part of the Finance Minister Djankov and the Economy Minister Traykov that Bulgaria did not have the necessary funds for large capital expenditures.
