A family of German citizens of Turkish origin was robbed by fake police on the Trakiya Highway in Southern Bulgaria early Friday morning.
The incident happened 22 km south of the Bulgarian capital Sofia as the family for traveling for Turkey through Bulgaria.
Their car was pulled over by a car with a blue lamp. The two masked attackers kidnapped the German citizens, and drove them to a nearby forest where they robbed the foreigners of their possessions, and left them there.
The police are searching for the highway robbers. Highway robberies, whose victims have been especially German citizens traveling through Bulgaria from and to Turkey, have become a rather frequent occurrence in the recent months.
