Parts of a tape contained what is allegedly a conversation between the Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi, and an escort girl was released in Italy Monday.

The tape is available on the website of the Italian weekly Espresso, which is close to the political left, BGNES reported.

A male voice, allegedly belonging to Berlusconi says, "I am going to get a shower, too. So you wait for me in the big bed if you are done first."

"Which big bed? Putin's", replies the prostitute, named Patricia D'Adario, referring to the Russian Prime Minister. She claims that Berlusconi had a big bed where Vladimir Putin had slept. Berlusconi's reply is affirmative.

The prostitute is part of an investigation against an entrepreneur who is accused of corruption because he paid escort girls to sleep at the Rome residence and the Sardinia villa of the Italian Prime Minister.

D'Adario claims she was promised EUR 2 000 per night for her services, and that she managed to record some of her conversations with Berlusconi.

A spokesperson of Berlusconi's governing Freedom Party described the released tape as a deplorable attempt to revive a dead media campaign against the Prime Minister.
