2 Men Convicted for College Student Murder Go Missing before Imprisonment
Two of the three men convicted for the murder of 20-year-old Stoyan Baltov in 2008 have gone missing.
Sofia City Court has referred to the prosecutor's office the case of Bulgarian student Stoyan Baltov, who was killed in a drunken fight near a club in the Sofia student's district at the end of last year.
The court based its ruling on new information that implicated a third person in the murder along with the accused killers Vili Georgiev and Alexander Danailov.
This emerged after Miroslav Stanchev took the witness stand, saying that Baltov was kicked many times before and after he fell to the ground.
Another witness in the trial said that during the night of the incident Stoilov was so drunk that the security at the night club would not let him in.
On 5 December 2008, 20-year-old student Baltov was killed in a drunken fight near a club in the Sofia student's district. The killing triggered mass student protests in downtown Sofia and across the country.
