2 Men Convicted for College Student Murder Go Missing before Imprisonment
Two of the three men convicted for the murder of 20-year-old Stoyan Baltov in 2008 have gone missing.
Friends and relatives of the murdered Bulgarian student Stoyan Baltov have asked the Sofia City Court to give a life sentence to those found guilty of his murder.
The Court started the case Friday against the accused killers Vili Georgiev and Alexander Danailov.
Baltov's mother called for all the family's supporters to put up posters across Sofia of the people accused of his murder and his brother stated that he did "not mind how long the trial lasted as long as the correct decision was reached - a life sentence."
The Court will now hear testimonies from witnesses over the coming week and the trial has no been given a time limit.
On 5 December 2008, 20-year-old student Baltov was killed in a drunken fight near a club in the Sofia student's district. The killing triggered mass student protests in downtown Sofia and across the country.
