Over 30 of Bulgaria's most prominent intellectuals issued Wednesday a declaration of official support to the rightist, opposition Blue Coalition.

Those, who have signed the declaration, include movie and theater personalities, artists, musicians, writers and scientists.

The document was presented at the Blue Coalition headquarters in Sofia by writer, Teodora Dimova, daughter of prominent Bulgarian novelist, Dimitar Dimov.

Literary critic, Professor, Mihail Nedelchev, actress, Ilka Zafirova, publicist, Lyuboslava Ruseva, play director, Tedi Moskov, writer, Emilya Dvorianova, media expert, Georgi Lozanov, writer, Georgi Gospodinov, all attended the presentation.

"Things in Bulgaria have reached the point where there is no going back. We refuse to continue to be ashamed of our Cabinet and our State. We know that freedom and democracy require permanent efforts," the declaration reads.

Other famous people, supporting the declaration include singers, Alexandrina Pendanchanska, Milena Slavova and Bogdana Karadocheva, actor, Yosif Sardchadzhiev, composer, Stephan Dimitrov, movie and play director, Yavor Gardev, writer, Alek Popov, professors, Bogdan Bogdanov, Ivaylo Znepolski.

In the mean time, the leader of the Union of Democratic forces (UDF) and co-Chair of the Blue Coalition, Martin Dimitrov, reassured the intellectuals that the Coalition will win twice more votes on July 5 than the European Parliament elections.

Dimitrov said that the Coalition's firm condition would be a Cabinet without the Bulgarian Socialist Party and the ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms while one of their first economic measures would be to adopt a new State budget to deal with the global crisis.
