The local fans from the "Tradition" club were dressed as barbarians, knights, and janissaries. All their clothes were hand-made by the club members especially for the reenactment.

The event included a proto-Bulgarian battle, use of flint, wick weapons and arches, a display of replicas of proto-Bulgarian flags made from horse tails.

The "Tradition" club has made the commitment to renovate the water fountain near Nikopolis ad Istrum, which has been destroyed by treasure hunters.

Nicopolis ad Istrum was a Roman and Early Byzantine town founded by Emperor Trajan around 101-106, at the junction of the Iatrus (Yantra) with the Danube, in memory of his victory over the Dacians. Its ruins are located at the village of Nikyup, 20 km north of Veliko Tarnovo in northern Bulgaria. The town reached its apogee during the reigns of Trajan, Hadrian, the Antonines and the Severan dynasty.
