Bulgaria Education Ministry Mandates Literary Language Use

Bulgaria's Education Minister, Daniel Valchev, signed Monday the order for mandatory study and usage of the literary Bulgarian language in the country's public schools.
The project for the order has been created by a working group of experts in Bulgarian language. The draft project was presented for discussion and suggestions on the Education Ministry's website two weeks ago.
The order reinforces the key importance of the literary language in Bulgaria's schools, the Ministry states
The order mandates that teachers use literary Bulgarian in all their communications with students inside and outside the school. Teachers further must communicate among themselves inside the school by using the standard Bulgarian.
