Bulgaria's Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev opened two new factories in the western town of Kostinbrod on Wednesday.

The first factory is for dry construction mixes. It is owned by the French company Saint-Gobain Weber, which invested over BGN 10 M in the new plant, and will employ 20 persons.

The second factory opened Wednesday by Stanishev is owned by the Bulgarian company Rollplast, which produces windows, woodwork, shutters, blinds, and doors.

The Rollplast factory implements the latest technologies in the respective field of manufacturing. The company has invested almost BGN 72 M in it. It is going to employ 700 people.

For its investment in the Kostinbrod plant, Rollplast has been awarded Class A investor status by the Bulgarian Ministry of Economy and Energy.

"We are presently in a crisis but we believe that the Bulgarians should get the best, and that is why we are investing in higher quality and greater variety. We are creating new jobs, and this is our way of helping people survive the complex economic situation", said Svetlin Nikolchev, the owner of Rollplast Group.

Rollplast has made public its plans to increase its share of the Bulgarian market from 10% to 15%, and to reach an annual turnover of BGN 100 M.

The company is also planning to start exporting its products to neighboring Romania, Serbia, and Macedonia, as well as to target the Western European markets after 2011.

The town of Kostinbrod has a population of 12 000 people and is located 15 km west of Bulgaria's capital Sofia.
