Bulgaria President Dissatisfied With EU Energy Aid

Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov has stated that he is not satisfied with the aid provided to Bulgaria within the framework of the EU energy package.
Out of the total EU energy funding of EUR 3.5 B, Bulgaria is currently only entitled to EUR 10 M for the connection of its gas transiting system with the Greece.
"The Bulgarian policy in energy does not boil down to building bypasses; from a strictly national point of view I am not satisfied with the volume of this aid." Parvanov said in Vilnius at a joint press conference with the President of Lithuania, Valdas Adamkus.
President Parvanov is currently on a three-day visit to Lithuania, Bulgarian National Radio reported.
Bulgaria-Lithuania energy cooperation and guarantees energy security were central to the talks between the presidents of the two countries Monday.
The two heads of state also attended the signature of an intergovernmental agreement for Cooperation in Tourism and of a Memorandum for Cooperation between the interior ministries of the two countries.
