Daniel Mitov Ready for Foreign Minister Role Amid Geopolitical Test in Bulgaria
Daniel Mitov, Deputy Chairman of GERB, has expressed his readiness to assume the position of Acting Foreign Minister
To not cover up for the "mutras" and to not follow Bulgaria's PM example was the main advice offered by Sofia's Mayor, Boyko Borisov, to his young followers.
The Mayor and informal leader of the Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) party spoke in the city of Plovdiv Sunday, during the official graduation ceremony of 50 young GERB members from the Party's Political Academy.
"From Obama to Sarkozy to Merkel, world leaders say they do not have a solution for the global financial crisis, while Bulgaria's PM, Sergey Stanishev, declares he had predicted the crisis and has prepared measures to overcome its negative effects. If in the future, if you make some similar grave mistakes in the country's rule, have the courage to admit them. Do not follow in the steps of the Bulgarian Socialist Party and their redneck election campaign," the Mayor advised the young "gerberas", as GERB party members are teasingly referred to in Bulgaria
When asked about the posters plastered all over Sofia displaying the Mayor's picture on a background showing mountains of trash, Borisov said thousands in "dirty" cash have been spent to discredit him.
The GERB leader jokingly asked his young followers upon entering the active political life in the country, to display in their offices his portrait as a reminder of the person, who had founded the great party that gave them such tremendous opportunities.
