Boyko Borisov Votes with a Paper Ballot: Is there a Functioning Machine, or Have They Run Out?
Boyko Borisov chose to cast his vote with a paper ballot in Bankya today.
Sofia's Mayor, Boyko Borisov, sent official letters to the CEO's of two of the concessionaire companies in charge of cleaning the city to notify them that their contracts have been terminated.
The City Hall terminated the contracts of "DITZ" and "Chistota-Sofia," the municipal press center informed Friday.
The contracts are annulled due to the systematic failure of the two companies to fulfill their duties. The termination becomes effective the moment the two CEO's receive the notices.
The Mayor further stated Friday that the negotiations with other companies to take over Sofia's waste removal had already started. Numerous companies have been asked to prove the availability of sufficient and modern cleaning equipment.
Borisov said once again that the current waste crisis has been a political order aiming at discrediting him.
The Sofia Municipal Council decided during an emergency meeting Monday to terminate the contract with the other concessionaire in charge of cleaning the capital, the "Novera" company.
That contract will be terminated around April 1, after the preparation of a legal analysis of the agreement between the company and the Municipality, including analysis of the possibilities for early annulment and ways to avoid legal proceedings.
On Tuesday, the City Prosecutor's Office asked the State Agency for National Security to probe the issue of Sofia's waste crisis over suspicions and unconfirmed information that "Novera" actually owns the shares of the other two businesses involved in Sofia's waste removal - "Chistota" and "DITZ".
