Bulgarian consumers rank last in the EU by the use of internet for access to entertainment, cultural enrichment and for making online purchases.

The data is included in a report of the European Commission (EC), presented by the Bulgarian Consumer Protection Commissioner, Meglena Kuneva.

Among the European Union (EU) Member States, Bulgaria lags even behind Romania in online purchases.

The number of Europeans, who use the internet to shop is constantly growing, but the EC says different currencies, trans-border payments, language barriers and lack of consumers' trust still create obstacles to the development of online retail.
