Bulgaria PM, Sergey Stanishev, has promised to secure financial stability in the country despite the global financial crisis. He made the announcement Saturday while speaking at the national youth meeting of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) in Sofia, reported Darik Radio.

PM Stanishev announced that BGN 250 M would be given to local Bulgarian municipalities and that BGN 500 M would be made available to small and medium sized businesses through the Bulgarian Development Bank. He also promised a 20% rise in pensions to help old people to deal with the affects of the global financial crisis.

Stanishev added that his government is also working on a labor plan for Bulgaria's unemployed.
