Renown Bulgarian historian and intellectual Professor Andrey Pantev defined Wednesday's statements of the Sofia Mayor Boyko Borisov in Chicago as self-promoting and a demonstration of the Mayor's inferiority complex.
Pantev's opinion is cited by the Bulgarian information agency BGNES.
"People like him have been described long ago in Bulgarian literature. On the other hand-side - someone who is ashamed of their environment, is also uneasy with their roots, background and upbringing, they are ashamed of their mother. We could also say that such behavior demonstrates an elevated degree of feeling an inferior and a second-rate person - something the Mayor compensates with a display of masculinity and a show off of his muscles. We are all somewhat disappointed from the current reality, but such words should not have been sputtered in Chicago, especially, when we take under consideration that the language was not al all Shakespearean," Pantev is quoted as saying.
The renown Bulgarian historian and MP from the leftist Coalition for Bulgaria (led by the ruling Socialist Party), Professor Andrey Pantev has recently been voted the most effective public speaker of the 40th Parliament by his colleagues.
