Commenting article: Bulgaria's PM Calls for EU Solidarity on Refugee Relocation Quotas

Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has called on eastern European member states of the EU opposing the bloc’s quotas for relocation of refugees to share the burden with their richer partners in western Europe.

In an interview with AFP published on Thursday, Borisov linked acceptance of the quota scheme put forward by the European Commission to aid provided to poorer EU Member States through EU funds.

"When taxpayers (in richer European countries) give money for European solidarity, we are happy. When, however, they have a problem – because the migrant flow is mainly headed there – then, in my view, we also have to show solidarity and mutual aid," AFP quoted Borisov as saying.

Borisov expects to receive some money from EU funds so he is flattening the liberal EU bureaucracy and especially Merkel\'s entourage.. but the Visehgrad groups has the wisdom on its side.

No. Countries like Bulgaria should not have to clear up the mess made by other EU countries which are attracting economic migrants by handing them more money in benefits than the native people of those countries get.
Any bribes offered to Bulgaria to take these people cannot be sustained so even if Bulgaria accepts these economic migrants and uses the EU money to pay for their housing and other benefits, the EU is going bankrupt. When the cash flow to Bulgaria stops, thse migrants will still be here and angry with Bulgaria for not continuing to give them everything for nothing. Then the attacks on Bulgarians will start in earnest
