Commenting article: Sofia City Court Acquits Ex-Deputy Parliament Speaker of all Charges

Sofia City Court (SGS) acquitted the former deputy speaker of the Bulgarian parliament, Hristo Biserov, of all three charges brought against him on Tuesday.

Biserov was charged with tax evasion, undeclared currency deals and undeclared bank accounts held in Switzerland, but was found innocent.

The prosecutor's office demanded on Monday four-year imprisonment for Biserov, while Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov requested BGN 18 965 from him in unpaid taxes.

I am totally disgusted with the farcical and inept "justice" system yet again. This scumbag demonstrated his true colours and guilt by fleeing Bulgaria when these charges were laid. Innocent people don't run and hide from the law.
