Commenting article: 'How Bulgarian Political Elite Betrayed Russia'

In an analysis entitled "How Bulgarian Political Elite Betrayed Russia" the Russian think tank Centre for Political Analysis claims that Bulgarian oligarch groups deny access to political life of pro-Russian parties and circles.

"The ordinary citizens continue to sympathise with Russia, but due to the power of oligarchic clans, they cannot politically realise their sympathies," writes the think tank, which is part of the Russian TASS wire service.

The publication notes the recent diplomatic controversy between Bulgaria and Russia on Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev's interview for Germany's Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in which he called Russia “an aggressive nationalist state”.

I guess Russia would like to organize a "referendum" in Bulgaria and deliver "humanitarian" aid. Worked like magic in Ukraine.

Peter, there is no need for referendum in Bulgaria. How about one in East Germany?

There is no East Germany.

It is people in various parts of the former Ukraine organise referendums, Russia has helped in humanatarian aid.

However, people in Donbass who organised referendums, get bombed, shelled and butchered by the Kiev regime.

This week Western media confirms that the Kiev regime attacked civilian areas with cluster bombs and that the Swiss Red Cross worker who was killed a few weeks ago was killed by Kiev regime cluster bombs.

"The ordinary citizens continue to sympathise with Russia" and that's why in the last elections pro-Russian parties (BSP and Ataka) lost more than half of their seats in parliament. I agree that Bulgarians sympathise with Russians, but not with the Russian government.

@Peter Schauman : Russian people living there organized referendums, not the Russian govt. If Russia wanted, they could already have integrated the Donbass area too. They accepted the request from Crimea since this region was Ukrainian for 60 years only, after Stalin gave it to the Ukraine oblast to compensate what they made them endure... Why what was granted to Kosovo and others would be denied to others ?

And just as a reminder, there was a coup in Kiev, with foreign intervention (have you heard about the leaked conversation of Nuland, Polish involvment, etc.). It's not Russia who intervened in Ukraine business, the West is 200 % responsible of the problems there, and thank God Russia had a very diplomatic handling of the crisis. Let the Russian overthrow the Mexican govt to install their puppets and you will see what will happen. Irrespective of who was Yanukovich, he had been democratically elected. Never forget that.

Bulgarians hate everything and anything, just a punch of pessimistic people who only complain and not work. This article can't possibly be of any reality because as Russian, there is a lot of problems with racist bolgars who don't even know what they're talking about.

Haha... the posts on this forum show Russian propaganda trolls are on it 24/7. Russia attacked Ukraine, because Putin and his FSB thugs can not let any kind of democracy to develop in Russia's backyard. Russian people might get wrong impressions... Belorussia is tolerated only for as long as it is led by a dictator. If Belorussians some day oust Lukashenko, it will be "referendums" and "humanitarian" aid for them, just like it was for Ukraine.

The East Ukraine terrorist troops were created, armed, trained and maintained by Russia. Russia is 100% responsible for the recent destabilization of Ukraine, plus shoting down a civilian passenger plane. Bulgaria is lucky to be in both NATO and the EU, and have a buffer zone against the "friendly" Russia. Love the tiger, but from afar.

Peter, dumb people like you seem to think that anyone who doesn't agree with the west, the NATO or US is apparently a paid propagandist? Well, in fact most of world is against, and the countries where the "US" democracy arrived? Ask them who now live in hell! Fact is, only because you support Russia and stand against american "imperialism" you are a paid propagandanist? That just shows how ignorant people like you are as you folks cant accept there are people with different views.

I'm not paid, neither are others. If we started to accuse you, how ridicolous would this look?

Russia was not involved in the shooting down of MH17 this is clearly stated by both US and German security services.

The Ukraine was destabilised by violent facist protestors in Kiev who came to power through force and created policies discriminating against Russain speakers in the East and South.

The violence in the Ukraine was started by Poroshenko who instructed tht Kiev army to attack pro independance protestors in the East and South.

In the Ukraine elections this sunday the Kiev regime is not allowing serving soldiers to vote.

They sure like fucking up their army, that is why so many soldiers desert from the Kiev regime in the former Ukraine.

Let's get this Russia hysteria under control and put things in perspective:

1. Russia is a declining power with its population dropping drastically and with a male life expectancy of 59 years.
2. The only thing the country exports are oil/gas and prostitutes.
3. Besides energy the country produces nothing the world is interested in buying. When did you watch a Russian movie recently? Heard a Russian song? Bought a Russian smart phone? Or used a Russian social media or any other site?

Russia is like Saudi Arabia (with prostitutes and without the population growth). With the US now becoming the world's top producer of oil, prices will drop and Russia will decay.
