Commenting article: Bulgaria's Economy Minister to Check Largest Energy Consumers

Bulgaria's Economy, Energy and Tourism Minister, Traicho Traikov, has announced the beginning of his tour among the country's enterprises, which are the biggest consumers of natural gas and electricity.

With this tour the minister will try to have a better understanding of the conditions in the enterprises, the reflection of the prices on their productivity and the possibilities for optimizing their expenses, the Energy Ministry said.

The news about the tour comes days after the State Commission on Water and Energy Regulation (DKEVR) officially announced that the price of natural gas sold in Bulgaria will go up by 24.63% from July 1.

Traicho,

Stop wasting time and money! There is nothing you can do for those businesses due to the simple reason that they use natural gas to run their enterprises. Your gas prices right now are exactly what I pay in Canada which is market value, what we have to note here is that my energy bill doubles the price of gas due to the many extra charges like, storage, transport, monthly charge, delivery and of course taxes. (I pay $4000 dollars on average for winter heating bills annually)

Traicho,
you and Boyko are playing dangerous games in a very critical moment for the Bulgarian economy. You are being influenced negatively by external interests and namely the interests of the US. Stop being na?ve and realize that Bulgaria has no energy resources and your American friends can’t do anything about it. (Only $90 million US dollars trade Bulgaria had with the US in 2009, it’s a shame, US is a country which continues to be in a state of disarray http://www.cnbc.com/id/38026062 ).

It’s about time you realize how lucky you are geopolitically by being a EU member and having Russia as a very close partner at the same time! (Russia is the energy engine of Europe)

Stop your selfish ideology, utilize your luck and realize all energy projects, which are good for Bulgaria, all of Europe and the Balkans!

Focus on improvement of Bulgarian Russian relations and your gas prices will go down!!!
