Yeah, most English girls need a good slapping ;-). Taxis are a rip-off though, never get one form Burgas airport - more expensive than a London taxi!

Clearly, the entire justice system is corrupt! BG will sink deeper into a black hole until this issue is resolved. In this financial environment, few will risk investing where there is obviously no rule of law that can be trusted!

Well, to use an idiom, it's a bit like the 'pot calling the kettle black' :-). Russians are usually the first to re-negotiate agreements when the situation changes! Maybe they are due a 'taste of their own medicine' ;-). Anyway, with deep sea oil drilling banned in the US, the pipeline makes more sense than ever now! :-).

Clearly, the author does not understand the Bulgarian economy! External debt might well be 108% of Bulgaria's GDP, but that's mostly the ponzi apartment building schemes of the mutri and their banking partners, primarily Greece. One suspects that the Greek banks have already been bailed out, in a roundabout kind of way ;-). Anyway, if the external debt percentage is worrying, consider the UK with external debt at well over 400% of GDP. The article is baseless, and frankly wrong! The only thing that EU inspectors are likely to find is that, maybe, 250m Euros worth of apartments by the Black Sea are somehow owned by the friends and family of ex-government officials.

BG needs a House of Lords, with the power to prosecute and confiscate the ill gotten assets of lower level judges!

"Bulgaria’s Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Simeon Djankov, declared the end of the economic crisis" 29th May 2010!

Corruption in eastern Europe

"Now that they're in the club, new European Union members are failing to deliver on the promises they made to fight corruption."

Economist, May 2008.

I saw one of these aliens, last year, in Tiblisi. His name was Vladimir and he was wearing a long gray overcoat, had broken spectacles, was obviously somewhat impoverished and was working as an English translator/guide at Joseph Stalin's former seminary, now a museum of Georgian history. His surname was Lenin, I think ;-).
