"With the new "sex-neutral" law, sex will no longer matter when two people want to get married."
I find this very undemocratic - why all marital laws in the western world are always about two people, why not three or four?
I can only congratulate the Irish police for the well done job and say I dont understand why a Bulgarian would write a whole letter complaining about being provided a proper security and complaining just to complain, looking for insults where there are none.
"A handful of seemingly wealthier people asked how we had the money to travel to Dublin, which was rather insulting"
How is this insulting when both the Irish and the Bulgarians know that the average official monthly salary in Bulgaria is about 300 euros?
"We Bulgarians who were there love Ireland and didn't allow this idiocy and a 20-minute post-match lock-in spoil what otherwise was a great party."
If there is any idiocy in this story, it is certainly in the head of the author of the letter.
Why dont the parliament vote Gabrovo to become the new BG capital? It is already the laughter capital of BG and as BG and its institutions are laughing stock, it is perfectly normal to transfer the capital, the parliament and the presidency there.
I hope lots of people living in or coming to Sofia now will follow the move thus solving all infrastructure problems of the city including the garbage collection and the traffic jams.
The Gabrovo people have an excellent predictor about whether the global crisis has struck their town or not - if these two on the picture are still there, the crisis has not come yet.
If they are gone, than the crisis has come. When the crisis came in Sofia in the early 1990s the bronze statue of Simon Bolivar went missing from its piedestal in South Park armed with a sword.
I second that opinion - the benefits are for everybody, including the hospitals, the funeral agencies and the sellers of stop-smoking drugs.
It is also our partiotic duty to smoke as much as we can during the crisis in order to decrease the impact of the global crisis - like this the BG smokers will work for the country without actually working and I think all Bulgarians would agree it is very cool as we dont like to work anyway.
Good luck - lets hope she will stay clean from scandals over corruption, arranging friends and relatives etc.
btw our permanent representation in the eu is over 70 people while the czech representation for a country of over 10 million is just over 20.
Just like in Bulgaria, the number of sweet administrative jobs is artificially inflated so that as much people as possible get taxpayers money and half of them get money for nothing. In this case, its a pretty expensive exercise but again just like in Bulgaria who cares what happens with the taxpayers money? Someone has to spend them anyway, right?
She deserves a medal from the EC, from the BG government and a place in VIP brother for showing with her behavior who exactly is in charge in the "implementation of the necessary reforms in the BG judicial system".
I wonder why it is so difficult to hire normal people for these positions that would not get that spoiled from the privileges of their position and would have at least the courage not to flee the scene after a drunk driving accident.
Why only for one day? The teenagers can play for a week or for a month, it wont make any difference compared to the regular managers especially in the state administration.
Its even possible that some of the students do better than the regulars.
"they attempted to create a peasant society by systematically emptying the cities and forcing the population to work in the fields."
It is not all bad - we need to take example from the khmer rouge, empty Sofia a little bit, return at least part of the invaders in the fields where they came from. There are also a lot of highways to be finished and I guess many people would like to eat again BG organic food.
