Photo Story: Triumph in the Loss

By Petya Sabinova Photos by Kameliya Atanasova Bulgaria's Levski had left its biggest present for their fans for their last home game and although they didn't manage a win, their 0:2 loss to Barcelona left everyone with a feeling of satisfaction nevertheless. Not counting several smoke bombs and flares on the pitch, the atmosphere on the Vassil Levski stadium was calm and most fans seemed in awe of the stars playing before them, so this was one of Levski's more gracious home games. Though many had hoped for more, Barcelona's stars didn't push themselves too much and Ronaldinho offered but a few of his famous mind-boggling and leg-entangling tricks. The team was happy with any win for it helped them keep the chances of ranking second in the group and most players didn't want to risk serious injuries. Levski, on the other hand, showed that they have yet a lot to learn, but they are a quick study. They fought hard but the lack of experience in such star-studded games showed in wrongfully positioned passes and near misses. SNA offers those who couldn't attend and the ones, who are still riding the adrenaline wave after the live show, a peak at the highlights of Wednesday night's historic clash.
