Photo Story: Two for the Show

Text by Petya Sabinova Photos by Yuliana Nikolova Levski's second-ever game in the UEFA Champions League group phase offered Bulgarian fans quite a show, when they managed to hold their ground against England's grand Chelsea and even netted their first goal in the championship. Thrills were abounding, starting with seeing stars like Andriy Shevchenko, Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard and Claude Makelele play in Sofia. Many were more than excited to spot billionaire Roman Abramovich in the stands, and camera flashes never stopped throughout the game. Still, the biggest thrill was definitely seeing a Bulgarian team fight so hard against one of the best ones out there. After a crushing defeat from Barcelona, morals were lagging, but this latest loss brought spirits up, funny as it may seem, for everyone saw that Bulgarians still have some tricks up their sleeves. Even against a team with single players costing twice Levski's yearly budget. If you have missed the game, or would just like to re-live the show, browse through the photos below for a real feel of the thrill.
