Photo Story: Holi: a Hindu Festival of Colors and Love

Holi is celebrated as the Hindu spring festival of colors and love. Celebrated mostly in India and Nepal, it heralds the beginning of spring and is traditionally celebrated for days, at the end of each winter.

Hindus mark the start of Holi on the last full moon day of the lunar month Phalguna (February or March), while the main day is celebrated by people throwing colored powder and colored water at each other.

It is becoming more and more popular among non-Hindus as well.
