Vote for Personality in the News 2016

Bulgaria's largest English-language news website (Sofia News Agency) invites you, our readers from around the world, to select Bulgaria's "Personalities in the News" for 2016!

Nominees are divided into three categories this year: Politics, Business and Diplomacy.

Voting will continue until mid-February 2017. Within this time we will take special care to present and promote equally all the nominees through interviews and articles.

The winners will be announced and awarded at a special ceremony which has already turned into a traditional and cherished event among expats, diplomats and businessmen in Bulgaria and around the world.


Yordanka Fandakova
Sofia's Mayor is among the very few Bulgarian politicians who have retained a positive approval rating amid growing distrust of the political class.

Krasimir Karakachanov
With the migration crisis raging on, the nationalist leader's popularity skyrocketed, turning him and the Patriotic Front he co-chairs into an essential power broker in Bulgarian politics.
