Ellis Shuman was born in the United States but moved to Israel as a teenager. He served in the Israeli army, was a founding member of a kibbutz, and now lives outside Jerusalem. For two years, 2009-2010, Ellis and his wife lived in Sofia. Ellis is a regular contributor to The Times of Israel and The Huffington Post. He writes frequently about Bulgaria, Israel, books, travel, and other interesting things on his blog. His first novel, Valley of Thracians, is a suspense story set in modern day Bulgaria.
I met him while he was in the country in May to meet friends and visit the Rhodope Mountains. Though he writes about both Israel and Bulgaria - and his work about the former predates that about the latter, his personal story with Bulgaria was of particular interest.
The first time Ellis arrived in Bulgaria with his wife Jodie was in 2009 - after what he calls “a lifetime opportunity” popped up....
Americans don't want to send either boots on the ground, or shoes and they won't send planes/tanks because ISIS people are payed by them, they are their employees. If they kill them all, they can't achieve their goal, which appears to be to create even more chaos in the Middle East. Plus if they try to kill them, the employees will come forth and shout: "The Americans created ISIS and now they are trying to kill us! Such an enterprise of theirs we simply cannot accept!"
You have no idea what you are talking about !! Kibutz is a socialist community movement that started long before Israel occupied any Palestinian territory... most of the kibutze's residents are the most left wing people in Israel.
I wish there would be more Israelis moving here instead of all those Muslim Arab emigration we get lately.
As I understood it, ISIS was born as a result of a successful uprising in a huge Iraqi prison, resulting in the escaping of some 20 000 Islamists from that prison who all of a sudden took over some (what is it?) 200 000 or 300 000 sqkm of territory (twice or "thrice" the size of Bulgaria). It is said that not all of that prison's inmates had been Islamists but there was a chief Islamist preacher (forgot his name) that was allowed to preached them radical Islam. The Americans pretend not to have known what the guy's speeches were all about, not even if they were religious or not, let alone radical Islamistic or not. As if none of those American prison guards spoke Arabic, none of them had managed to learn Arabic (I know Americans are morons, arrogant morons but, still, that moronic/arrogant???) or there were no "moles" (local traitors) or infiltrated Americans of Arab ethnic origin amid those prisoners that could have informed the prison's head about what was going on.
Also they appear to be overly extremely anti-Shiite even for Sunni's standards: it looks like their are trying too much to drive a(n American) wedge between Sunnis and Shiites, the biggest wedge between those Muslim "sects" history has ever known.
I'm only replying because you really have gotten a wrong impression of him. Ellis Shuman is the most down to earth and at the same time positive person I know. I am happy to call him my friend and he is anything, but full of himself. He's just happy....
as far as I understood it Israel border hospitals are treating the wounded from the "moderate opposition" against Assad but pretend to do so out of kindheartedness. The US however is fighting both ISIS and Assad although it was supposed to keep their deal with the Russians on Syria. Anyway it's not like the Arabs are no decapitatorial crazy extremists, 95% of them at least and don't deserve it.
Are you sure they have officially admitted to treating ISIS members?
And ISIS is of course a fake "state", made by the US and Israel. That's why the US is not lending the Iraqians military airplanes to bomb it, even though the Iraqian government says it only has 2 Soviet-era aircraft
good11; ISIS is being sponsored by Israel in order to overthrow Assad. Israel has sent ISIS arms and they treat their wounded in Israel.
Ellis Shuman says he lived on a kibbutz, a kibbutz is just another name for an illegal settlement on occupied land.
