Bulgarian farmers will get EUR 7 B in EU direct payments by 2020, according to Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev

Speaking Friday in Parliament, Donchev made clear that the average amount of the direct payments for Bulgaria was nearly 90% of the EU average, adding that 9 countries had lower amounts of such payments, including the UK, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Croatia, Romania, Lithuania, Estonia, and Latvia.

Donchev also presented a schedule for EU payments in the agriculture sector.

Sure - when Bulgarian workers get the same salaries as those across the EU. Bigger subsidies merely means bigger profits for the large agri-businesses that are such good supporters of the political elite and nothing to the little guy. In fact, increasing the grants available for equipment further reduces the levels of employment in the villages.
