Exactly poshrat. How BG thought they could join in 2008 given the crippling inflation and the massive debt levels is anyone's guess!

'...I fully expect the European capitals to burn before this summer is out, if not before.''

This could be the opportunity Europe has been waiting for, with Stanishev and Putin forming an alliance to liberate first Europe then the rest of the world from the shackles of capitalism and impose a new single party regime ruling with an iron fist. They could even let Borisov seize power in the US, crushing the weak and ineffective Obama. I can see it now - a return to the glory days of old !!!

To think Turkey wants to get into the EU! They would be better off joining a circus. They should start their own union; call it TU

The EU wasn't exactly a loving family before this mess and the Iron Curtain threat is very weak coming from the weak. Hungary can go back to being Austria's retarded neighbor always looking over the fence at you.

70% of Austia's GDP is lent to Eastern Europe. Can you say "cascading bank failure in the EU" ??

Die Heimat will take nubile lasses from the Pannonian Plains in satisfaction of those Euro-denominated mortgages...

Germans taking their revenge on the bitch states for stabbing them in the back on Iraq. Guess New Europe isn't as strong as Old Europe after all.

Not to be alarmist, but I fully expect the European capitals to burn before this summer is out, if not before.

New Europe paging Donald Rumsfeld!!!

If I had a nice hairpiece I would be smiling too! How can you take someone with a "rug"seriously ? In fact how can one take the so-called Europian Union seriously
