Georgi Kadiev, Bulgarian Socialist Party Candidate for Sofia Mayor

Georgi Kadiev is the candidate of the Bulgarian Socialist Party in the Sofia Mayor Elections scheduled for November 15, 2009.
Georgi Kadiev was born in the Bulgarian Black Sea city of Burgas in 1966. He graduated from the German-language high school in Burgas.
Kadiev earned his graduate degree in international relations the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, specializing on Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.
He has also received a Master's in diplomacy from Lester University, UK, and a Master's in public administration from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
Kadiev has worked at the Harvard Institute of International Development, and has been Director of Internet Securities Bulgaria, and a member of the Board of Directors of Internet Securities Inc, Euromoney Holdings Plc. He has also worked as a journalist at the Bulgarian 24 Chasa Daily.
In 2005-2007, he was Bulgaria's Deputy Minister of Finance in the government of Sergey Stanishev (2005-2009). Since 2007, Kadiev has been a city councilor in Sofia. He has been a member of the National Council of Bulgarian Socialist Party since 2005.
Georgi Kadiev is popularly known as the “red yuppie”, red being the color of the Bulgarian Socialist Party. He is fluent in English, German, Russian, and Polish.
