PARLIAMENTARY DEPUTIES ELECTED

Kamelia Kassabova was elected Deputy Chairperson of Parliament from the SNM quota with 229 votes. Kassabova teaches at the Sofia University Economics Faculty, has worked for eight years in the national banking system, including as chief secretary of the Association of Commercial Banks.

Asen Agov MP of the UtdDF, 53, was elected Parliament Deputy Chairman with 174 votes. Agov was MP in the 37th and the 38th National Assembly; in the latter he headed the Committee on Foreign and Integration Policy.

Academician Blagovest Sendov, 69, MP of the Socialist Party-dominated Coalition for Bulgaria, was elected Parliament Deputy Chairman with 163 votes. He was deputy chairman of the 38th and chairman of the 37th National Assembly.

Yunal Lyutfi MP of the largely ethnic Turks` Movement for Rights and Freedoms was elected Deputy Chairman of Parliament with 190 votes. Lyutfi has been MP in all parliaments in the transition period. He was deputy chairman of the 38th National Assembly.
