Bulgarian Firm Trading with Western Sahara Resources

Letters to the Editor | October 5, 2008, Sunday // 00:00

I am from the Western Sahara Resource Watch, a group of activist searching and campaigning companies that make illegal and unethical business with natural resources from the occupied territory of Western Sahara in Africa. Western Sahara is occupied by Morocco, and Morocco has for several years illegally exloited phosphates from Western Sahara.

We have now discovered that a company from Varna - Agropolychim - is tomorrow (Monday) receiving a vessel with phosphates coming from the occupied country. The vessel contains approx. 7000 tonnes of phosphates. This trade is happening in the disregard of the wishes of the local people, and Morocco is earning billions of dollars on the unethical trade annually.

We have posted an article in our web pages about the Bulgarian company and the vessel full of phosphates that is probably arriving to Varna on Monday

Kind regards
