5 SECONDS FOR MPS TO VOTE
Politics | July 4, 2001, Wednesday // 00:00
The members of the 39th National Assembly (NA) will have at their disposal only 5 seconds to vote. Their predecessors from the previous parliaments had 3 minutes. The time for voting is being shortened in order to put an end once and for all to the wrong practice of voting with a pack of other MPs` cards, Prof. Ognian Gerdzhikov explained. He was officially nominated for parliamentary chairman by the PG of SNM II. The amendment is part of the new rule of the NA. It will be passed after consulting all the Parliamentary groups. Sanctions are to be envisaged for MPs who are missing from the sittings.
