BG CHIEF NEGOTIATOR WITH EU RESIGNED
Politics | July 4, 2001, Wednesday // 00:00
Bulgaria`s chief negotiator with the European Union /EU/, Vladimir Kisyov, submitted his resignation at the Cabinet`s last session today. Antoninette Primatarova, Bulgaria`s ambassador to the EU mission in Brussels, also submitted an application for resignation. Kisyov`s decision to resign was provoked by personal ethics, which oblige him to withdraw together with Kostov`s cabinet. The chief negotiator repeated the concerns of the senior members of the European Commission about the course of the negotiations but declined to elaborate. `The official position of the diplomats is that they will continue working with any next government`, Kisyov said. On July 27 Bulgaria has to close three more chapters: `Free movement of capitals`, `Free offering of services`, and `Telecommunications`, and open two new: `Environment` and `Tax policy`.
