In the four years of its existence, the Order of the Knight Templar of Jerusalem in Bulgaria had made charitable donations, estimated at EUR 100,000, according to Rumen Ralchev, Great Prior of the Great Priory Bulgaria.
Ralchev spoke at a press conference for the Bulgarian Information Agency (BTA).
The Great Prior explained that the Order had started a big project near the coastal town of Kavarna for the construction of an adult day care. The Oder was also going to donate 6,000 books to various schools around the country, according to Ralchev, who added that the Order had an agreement with the municipality of Sofia, where all Sofia schools were going to receive three volumes of children encyclopedia in English.
Starting September 15, each Saturday for a one year period, the Order will also provide food for about 300 people. The kitchen will be located in the park of the Sofia "Sveti Sedmochilsenitsi" church. The initiative has also been coordinated with the municipality of Sofia.
In October, Professor Nikolay Ovcharov is beginning archeological excavations near the village of Nisovo, in the Rousse Region to search for archeological facts about the Knight Templar. The excavations are going to be financed by the Order.
