CURRENCY WORTH BGN 75 781 SEIZED AT CUSTOMS

Last night officials from Sofia Airport seized currency at the amount of BGN 75 781, the Customs Agency announced. The customs inspectors prevented an attempt for illegal import of $21 380 by checking up a Bulgarian coming from Israel. The currency was found in his socks. Another attempt for import of $5154 by a Bulgarian woman coming from Frankfurt was thwarted. Statements of currency violation have been drawn against both of them. So far the customs officers have seized currency at the total amount of BGN 2 132 961, the Customs Agency announced.
