The economic development and prosperity of any country is impossible without the expansive introduction of information and communication technologies and the use of Internet opportunities, President Parvanov said in his opening speech at the fourth international conference "Business in Internet", which started May 10 in Sheraton Sofia Hotel Balkan. Along with the widespread introduction of the Internet in education and administration, the president also discussed ways of providing information and communication infrastructure. In his opinion the executive and legislative powers are debtors to the Bulgarian information society. President Parvanov underlined that a number of laws must be adopted urgently, including the act on high technology parks. State Administration Minister Dimitur Kalchev announced the strategy for building e-government- a nationally integrated information system - will be ready in June. Different services systems offered at "one counter", mobile communications and the Internet, security systems in e-documents and e-signatures, payments on the Internet and ways of expanding e-commerce are among the topics discussed by IT specialists from the Bulgarian Industrial Association , Mtel, Microsoft and DataMax, as well representatives of the Cabinet and state institutions. The two-day conference, organized by the Bulgarian Industrial Association and M3 Communications Group, Inc., is already a traditional event, which has proved to be the most prestigious event in the IT sector in Bulgaria.
