An EgyptAir plane has crashed near Tunis, the Tunisian news agency (TAP) reports. The report did not say what type of plane had crashed, or how many people were on board. One unconfirmed report says a number of passengers survived. The plane was on a short flight from the Egyptian capital Cairo to Tunis, a Tunisian Government official told the French news agency AFP.
