The installment of a jet - vortical condenser at Unit 3 of Nuclear Power Plant Kozloduy starts on April 30. The equipment, to be installed by Enemona AD, is unique and is an innovation in the world practice for preventing failures of Nuclear Power Plant’s units BBEP 440 MW type B-230. Preparations for the installment started at the beginning of February, 2002. The construction of the pool, where the condenser will be put, has already been completed. The condenser is an essential part of the complex program for updating Units 1 –4 PRG’97. The condenser will increase the air-proof zone in case of possible failures and insure that the pressure is kept below the maximum allowed levels. Enemona was also the company that installed the first such condenser at Unit 4 in 2001. This is the second application of the equipment at an operating Nuclear Power Plant in the world. Following the installment of the first condenser in a Russian N-plant unit, its exploitation life was extended by five years than projected.
