Italia's Milan is to give up its security plan to Bulgaria's second city of Plovdiv for free, the two cities' mayors Letizia Moratti and Slavcho Atanasov agreed at a meeting on Thursday.
About EUR 150,000 should be allocated to the project's development, the officials announced.
"We will use the money given to our municipality by the state. Besides, Plovdiv is going to apply for additional financing on some EU programs until July," Mayor Atanasov said.
Milan tops the European ranking of cities that have the most developed security systems with more than 1,000 cameras, mounted along the streets to air real-time signals to all institutions, responsible for public peace keeping.
"That is an intelligent system for controlling traffic in the city," Milan's mayor explained.
In the framework of their meeting, the heads of Plovdiv and Milan sealed economy, culture, education and social sphere collaboration protocols.
Mrs. Moratti promised to help organizing a visit of La Scala's philharmonic orchestra in Plovdiv.
