US Senator Hillary Clinton claimed victory in Pennsylvania over Democratic rival Sen. Barack Obama, thus re-igniting her White House bid.
Clinton won the Pennsylvania primary by 55 percent of the vote, against 45 percent for her fellow Democrat contender, Obama, CNN reported.
Midsized states such as Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida and Michigan are battleground states crucial to the Democratic effort against Republican White House candidate John McCain and Clinton did not hide her satisfaction of the victory.
"You know, some people counted me out and said to drop out. But the American people don't quit, and they deserve a president who doesn't quit, either," Clinton said to cheers.
Nationwide, Obama is currently ahead in the race leading in the popular vote and the number of states won so far this primary season.
