Bulgaria and the Republic of South Africa are willing to expand bilateral trade and economic cooperation, it emerged after a meeting between Deputy Economy Minister Nikola Yankov and Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa Jannie Momberg, who is based in Athens. Yankov stressed that Bulgaria expects the ratification of the free trade zone agreement with the Republic of South Africa. He also spoke about the need that the two countries sign agreements on extradition, mutual legal aid and on avoidance of double taxation. The Bulgarian side also expects that the status of the diplomatic representation of the Republic of South Africa in Bulgaria be promoted to an embassy.
